Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanagh faced a lengthy grilling at the capitol on Wednesday. Kavanagh refused to address a question by one of the panelists whether a sitting president should be subpoenaed.
President Donald Trump met on Monday with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. Trump publicly sided with Putin against US intelligence agencies refusing to condemn Moscow for its interference in the 2016 election. Trump said that he sees no reason to believe that Russia was behind the hacking of the DNC servers.
President Trump will announce on Tuesday the US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal. This is according to European diplomats who claim that after meeting the US president they were unable to convince him to not do this.
