The former employee says that stopping a car during a test drive even for a bathroom break was problematic since the vehicle had to reboot before it could start all over again. The company made it clear that drivers “should probably hold it”.
Amazon decided last year to launch a program called Pivot. The program was designed to help employees get back on track in line with Amazon’s standards. But 18 months after the program was first implemented, it’s attracting the dissent of employees at the company.
Uber has announced that tests for its self-driving cars in Arizona have been canceled. The company will lay off 300 workers as a result, most of whom are vehicle operators. The decision comes barely two months after an autonomous car owned by Uber hit and killed a woman in Tempe, Arizona.
