A budget proposal by President Trump seeks to significantly cut domestic spending and funding for social security programs such as Medicare and also seeks a military spending increase. The proposal goes against a number of promises made by president Trump during the campaign.
US president Donald Trump revived his attack on Democratic lawmakers on Monday during his speech at a factory in Ohio. The president referred to the incident where Democrats didn’t applaud him during the State of the Union address as un-American and treasonous.
In an effort to discredit the FBI investigation headed by Robert Mueller, representative Devin Nunes has attempted to release a memo from the White house that was meant to provide examples of the organization’s overreach into Trump’s personal agendas. So far this has not been as effective as was hoped.
Lawmakers from both sides of the political divide are calling for a more sober immigration debate. The lawmakers said on Sunday that efforts should be made to legalize young immigrants often referred to as “Dreamers” as well as provide funding for tighter security on the southern border.
