William Barr, the nominee for Attorney General, has said that he will allow the special counsel Robert Mueller to finish his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 US election, if confirmed

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to resign as soon as William Barr, Trump’s nominee for Attorney General is confirmed. His office has been in charge of overseeing the Mueller investigation into possible collusion with Russia.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says that he will not back the effort of his conservative house colleagues to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Rosenstein is overseeing Mueller’s investigation into the Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
