If there is one thing that Ivanka Trump is known for aside from being the first daughter, it's the fact that she owned a line of fashion accessories. Now, she has a new job and it's in the White House. Here's the kicker, she is not considered as an official government employee.

Ivanka Trump is going to be employed in the West Wing of the White House. She will be working as an adviser to her father. As an individual working in the West Wing, that means she will have access to classified information, security clearance, and a government-issued phone.

The new job description further solidifies Ivanka Trump's prominent, but unofficial, role in Trump's administration. In fact, Ivanka Trump already attended several high-level meetings. One good example is the meeting with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Technically, Ivanka Trump is not an employee of the government. However, her new job entails her to act like one. For example, she must follow the rules of ethics. Her primary job is to be the "eyes and ears" of President Trump. This is according to Jamie Gorelick, an adviser and attorney of Ivanka Trump.

In the United States, there is a law known as anti-nepotism. This law dictates that the President is not allowed to appoint family members to any government positions. Because of this law, Ivanka Trump is unable to officially hold any position within the Trump administration. To get around this, she is technically a private citizen and acting as an adviser to the President, but with the added bonus of having an office in the White House.

Recently, Ivanka Trump gave a statement to the New York Times. According to her, she will voluntarily comply with all the rules that all government employees must follow. And yet, the issue does not end there.

Ivanka Trump owns a couple of businesses. Her involvement with the White House is a serious issue as it could potentially create a "conflict of interest" scenario. As a way to hush this concern, Ivanka Trump removed herself from the daily operations of her lifestyle and clothing company. She then transferred the assets to a trust, which is overseen by the relatives of Ivanka Trump's husband.

Ivanka Trump's brand has been carrying her face and persona since it started. However, this new position means she is barred from using her image as a way to promote any item including her product lines which include shoes, bags, clothing, and other similar items. For now, her Instagram is featuring images of White House and family happenings, and no brand-related images.
